The i-5 Interstate 5 Highway is the busiest, most well
known, and arguably most important highway on the west coast of North
America... the i-5 is the main north-south land-based transportation
corridor across the entire west coast of North America for the transport of both
people and cargo... the map below shows the i-5 (highlighted in
pink) where it travels across the west coast of North America.
The Interstate 5 is known by a number of names...
Interstate 5 is sometimes generally referred to as; the
"i-5", the "5", "Freeway 5" the "i-5 Highway", the "i-5
Corridor", and the "Big Road"... in California, certain sections of
the Interstate 5 are also called; the "Golden State Highway", the
"Santa Ana Freeway", and the "San Diego Freeway".
Millions of people each day travel the Interstate 5
as part of their daily transportation route... this very important
highway transportation route conveniently connects the majority of the
population located along the west coast of North America, to their
places of employment, their homes, and many of their daily activities.
The Interstate 5 facilitates easy automotive travel along the
entire
west coast of the USA... the i-5 travels generally in a
north-south direction through the states of
Washington,
Oregon,
and California...
the i-5 travels through or in very close
proximity to most of the largest cities on the west coast,
including;
San Diego,
Los Angeles,
Sacramento,
Eugene,
Portland,
& Seattle,
as well as, numerous other smaller cities.
To the north, the i-5 also connects to the
Vancouver Canada
area via Highway 99 in
British Columbia,
Canada, and to the south, the i-5 easily connects to the
Tijuana Mexico
area,
just south of
San Diego, California.
The Interstate 5 also offers many great tourism opportunities... as
the i-5 travels through or in reasonably close proximity to
